FIRST PHASE OUT
ALL ABOUT THE WINS, NO LOSSES
"Education is not for everyone", this is one of the disappointing and saddest statements I have heard from people. "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."-Nelson Mandela
Education is definitely not a measure of ones intelligence and wealth, but I firmly believe it to be an eye opener. July 2017 was one of the most exciting months in the year for me. I graduated my first phase of pharmacy school. Between making preparations towards my graduation, applying for jobs and most importantly making a very tough decision in my life where I had to decide on taking a full scholarship to further my education in either China or Australia amongst other bustles - I needed a short hiatus. However I am excited to share this interesting experience with you.
After my Phi-Theta Kappa ceremony and induction, I found out I was selected to be a part of the schools International Scholar Laureate Program! It was such an exciting and rewarding experience to be recognized for my endurance and efforts especially as an international student.
I graduated on July 28th, 2017 as an honor student. This day gave me so much joy and a kind of indescribable strength. I genuinely felt I could accomplish anything under this earth that very day.
At my graduation ceremony, I felt a sense of security knowing no one could take away my earned degree. it was such an unforgettable feeling having my family and friends come support me on this day. With a room filled with happiness and joy, we decided to celebrate this success with many more to come! We went out to eat and drink and truly I just wanted to let go and be myself and I couldn't have it any other way. (Thanks to my amazing friends and family)
I had my graduation outfit planned months before my graduation day. I decided to wear "Kente" not only to represent my African heritage but also to show the pride it came with. my outfit was made in Ghana and sent to me (Thanks to my Sister). Getting so much compliments on my outfit made my day more exciting than it already was. I felt so honored in my Kente. I was beyond excited as I made my family so proud.
The big question now is, whats next?...Truthfully I just want to work and make some money before going back school....I want to live life, travel the world and establish myself in my career field and by Grace I landed a job in the health field, though that is not exactly what I want to pursue as a career it is a great stepping stone to fulfilling my plans and dreams and I am fearlessly going to accomplish them.
In this era where everybody wants to be in the Entertainment industry, it is very hard and challenging to have educational accomplishments. I would urge you to go for what you want, nothing good comes easy, its going to take some sacrifices and some challenges you have to overcome but have faith and confidence in yourself and get it done! Appreciate the small accomplishments on your journey as well.
What are some of your recent accomplishments?
